Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 believe Phantom Liberty provides evidence for why Cyberpunk should have been delayed.
Initial discussions typically commence with simple statements like this from u/WanderWut in the PlayStation 5 subreddit: “Oh My Gosh, Cyberpunk 2077 Is Absolutely Amazing. They Are absolutely right… What Made this Thread So Entertaining Was the Replies.
“Really proves they should’ve delayed it another year at least!” This sentiment has not caused much contention as numerous users reached a similar or identical conclusion.
One user responded directly to Sosantula21, noting “They have been working on expansion and changes for about 2 or 3 years”. They refer to the 2.0 update which significantly overhauled much of the game just prior to Phantom Liberty being launched as DLC content.
Developers recommended beginning anew after this update was released; many users are happy they waited to play for so long; Reddit user u/Risingtoward extolls its virtues as being immersed in both story and gameplay aspects u/Risingtoward complimented the graphics as well as gameplay qualities of Risingtoward’s version of Rise ‘n Shine!
“Yeah, Cyberpunk 2077 has grown into an awesome game!” commented u/Eruannster who played Cyberpunk 2077 upon its initial launch and enjoyed it “enormously. I played for about 10 hours before finally giving up”.
Cyberpunk 2077 initially disappointed me upon its initial launch due to all its complaints; upon reading this Reddit thread I could only agree. Since then though, two major revivals have taken place; Edgerunners released on Netflix and won over viewers, then most recently update 2.0; I believe now more than ever it deserves its status amongst gaming’s greats.
“Had this game released for 1.6 only instead of “old gen,” this would have more likely met expectations,” writes AsheBnarginDalmasca who adds, “2.0 and Phantom Liberty are just added bonuses”.
