Valhalla has earned itself the unfortunate label of being one of the weakest entries in Ubisoft’s RPG trilogy – I can vouch for that statement!

Ubisoft’s flagship franchise, Assassin’s Creed, is back with an explosive return with their recent release: Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This game takes us back to where the series started: stealth and espionage while condensing its map size and shifting focus onto Order of Assassins once more.

Recent releases left fans feeling disappointed, most notably the RPG trilogy, which consisted of Assassin’s Creed Origins as their go-to title; Odyssey being both a phenomenal RPG experience but disappointing as an AC game; and then Valhalla, which some consider unjustly mistreated by Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla suffers from being an enormous game featuring an immense map that looks impressive but is tediously traversable – plus an unappealing narrative.

Looking back over all three Assassin’s Creed RPG titles, many fans feel Valhalla was, unfortunately, the weakest title out of them all. Reddit user Buurto confirmed this sentiment by posting that Origins and Odyssey held greater appeal for players.

Many agreed, noting they don’t feel drawn back into Valhalla or want to finish it due to its world, story, and characters not having as much appeal compared to games from before it.

“Origins is certainly my favorite of these three games; Valhalla was such a disaster. I tried reinstalling it recently but quickly abandoned it after only five minutes!”

“I can relate. Assassin’s Creed completely won me over: Origins, enjoyed Odyssey only slightly (because its length made it too boring), and completely loathed Vallhala for being too long without purpose!!”

Completely agree. I reinstalled Valhalla three times without success, finding no joy there either. Mirage proved more difficult due to my fond memories of Odyssey and Origins, but so far, Mirage seems promising.”

Future Assassin’s Creed titles may range from smaller, more focused titles like Mirage to grander open-world adventures like the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed: Red.
