Fans believe Red Dead Redemption 3 to be unnecessary and unimportant, according to their arguments.
While Red Dead Redemption fans might seem eager for another instalment, that opinion may not be shared universally; some believe Rockstar Games should leave things as they are.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has received critical acclaim as being among the finest-looking and open-world games ever released, prompting many fans to praise Rockstar Games as being capable of matching or surpassing it in some way. Fans often speculate whether Rockstar could top this success, one possibility being Red Dead Redemption 3, although no official word has come out about such an endeavour yet (in addition to GTA VI still in development by Rockstar and John Marston actor dropping teases teasing its return!). Some argue Red Dead 3 just isn’t necessary because fans feel strongly enough about John Marston returning and can return as John Marston, or rather, don’t care what comes next from Rockstar!
Reddit user ayyLumao expressed her unpopular opinion: Red Dead Redemption 3 should not be made. While I love both Redemption games immensely and consider them among my top games ever created, we do not require more. In my view, Dutch and Hosea’s story were wrapped up nicely, so another prequel or sequel about Jack wouldn’t make sense as WW1 started during RDR1’s release.”
“For Red Dead 4, my recommendation would be Red Dead Revolution or Raving Rabbids – as opposed to an overlong story arc that spans backwards across multiple games or anything similar.”
Surprisingly, this user wasn’t alone in his opinion: Calibretto9 and DC1919 each expressed similar views: “I agree. If they created an amazing new story and technological enhancements made that really add something compelling new gameplay-wise, then yes, I might reconsider revisiting 1 and 2. Otherwise, both games stand alone perfectly well,” while DC1919 stated, “Same! People need to remember some games hold snapshots in time – RDR2 stands as one of the greatest ever made, so making sequels dilutes that effect compared to this? Which side are you on?
