PlayStation Plus is one of the ultimate gifts, providing subscribers with unending entertainment – and this Halloween, its service boasts some devilish delights that can only come from Sony!

PlayStation Plus provides plenty of titles in multiple genres for users to explore; those subscribing to Premium or Extra will have even more to choose from! However, as this article explores “one of the most terrifying” games ever, this review will primarily highlight horror titles.

Players looking to celebrate Halloween this year with some classic titles can select such titles as The Evil Within, Until Dawn, Outlast II and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard as Halloween games, but one stand-out title might be 2014’s Alien: Isolation by Creative Assembly.

At an early age, I was scared of the Aliens featured in Ridley Scott and James Cameron’s Alien movie series. My imaginary monster would hide beneath my bed; additionally, there were horrid face-huggers, which gave rise to my fear of spiders.

Yet despite my fear of face huggers and other horrific creatures in Alien: Isolation, this franchise remains my all-time favourite, and when its release came around, my worst fears were realized! Unfortunately, though, Alien: Isolation proved too terrifying for me to finish even though it was absolutely loved by many other gamers around me and beyond my limits; in fact, it may even prevent you from finishing as well.

SeasOfNoCheese on Reddit enthusiastically recommended PS Plus’ Alien Isolation game as one of his October picks and found playing it to be terrifying! “One of the scariest experiences I’ve had.”

“So f***ing good. Would love a PS VR2 version,” exclaimed Transposer, prompting Electronic-Humor-931 to speak on behalf of fans stating, “Thanks, but no thanks – that would mean literally crapping my pants!”

“This game made me take breaks due to its anxiety-inducing properties; I could only play two- to three-hour episodes and then stop until tomorrow (even as someone who loves horror).” Klemp0 agrees; I know what she means! Karevoa replied, “I want so badly to continue playing because it has done such incredible work – yet playing it just stresses me out too much,”

If you enjoy horror and have never played Alien: Isolation before, it comes highly recommended! Though some parts might feel stretched out too long at times, this game remains one of my favourites in terms of overall horror gaming experience.

Alien: Isolation is now available on PC, PlayStation(r) 4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
