Resident Evil fans have long advocated for a Code Veronica remake and want it soon.
Remakes have become the trend lately, and Resident Evil 4 stands out among them all as one of 2023’s finest remakes.
No doubt there’s much more coming, such as Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may also see adaptation soon (both projects seem in danger at present), though both could take their time getting underway. When asked which franchise entry most resonates with Resident Evil fans (R, Code: Veronica perhaps?), many would likely name Veronica.
Resident Evil – Code Veronica for Dreamcast was first released back in 2000 and takes place three months post-Resident Evil 2. Players follow Claire Redfield after she has been captured by Umbrella and sent to Rockfort Island; when there is a viral outbreak there, chaotic Resi mayhem ensues quickly enough!

Social media makes it easy to discover an army of fans calling for the remake, such as Twitter users like those writing: “I will not stop fighting until RE: Code Veronica remake is created!” while another wrote, “Other RE games do not need remakes as much; however Code Veronica deserves one!”
Back in March, we reported on a poll asking Resi fans which game they wanted remade next. Nearly 80% chose Code: Veronica as their choice – with almost all voting in favor. While we wait for Capcom to unveil its plans, fans have also created their own impressive remake which boasts some truly spectacular gameplay features.
