GTA 6 could soon receive single-player DLC support according to industry insiders.

An insider recently hinted at GTA 6 possibly being supported with single-player DLC post launch. Rumors about this possibility have circulated and should it come true, it will make many players very pleased indeed.

GTAV and Red Dead Redemption 2 both saw single-player DLC go unreleased due to an emphasis on online components of both games, but GTA 6 may bring back single player DLC as part of Rockstar Games’ return-to-form strategy.

Rockstar Games was known for creating high-quality DLC for their games; Red Dead Redemption featured Undead Nightmares while GTA IV saw The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony; however, sequels of both of those titles neglected solo players by not expanding the worlds within each title.

Now, leaker Tez2 has returned and indicated they possess information suggesting GTA 6 will receive periodic episodic content releases, like map updates or expansion packs for online mode expansions. There’s even the potential of seeing entirely new cities added – something ambitious but within Rockstar Games’ reach.

Tez2 suggested previously that Rockstar might release episodes as a means of stretching GTA 6 content over more episodes and relieving stress from its lengthy development cycle. GTAV Online became such a success that its push into selling well kept it alive; we wouldn’t be surprised to see them do the same in GTA 6. It may take work for such an established company as this but is certainly doable.
