PlayStation has seemingly confirmed The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster as confirmed.
Rumors have circulated online for some time that The Last of Us Part II might get a PlayStation 5 remaster, prompting speculation from many gamers who own both titles.
At the beginning of October this year, The Last of Us Part II Remaster appeared on one developer’s LinkedIn profile – seemingly confirming its existence without Sony or Naughty Dog officially making any statements regarding it. Although all gossip should still be taken with caution before being proven otherwise; I strongly believe there can be no smoke without fire!
Be mindful that Naughty Dog is no stranger to repeat releases; The Last of Us Part I for example has seen multiple releases across PC, PS3, PS4 and PS5 platforms alone! Uncharted has also experienced multiple releases with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection released for both PC and PlayStation 5.
As reported by VGC, strong indications that The Last of Us Part II’s official remaster may soon arrive have emerged this week after it appeared on PlayStation’s database. PlayStation Game Size’s Twitter feed first reported it and quickly leaked releases and updates before their official releases or updates came live in the wild. While previous PS4 versions received free 60 frames per second updates that included haptic feedback support and adaptive trigger support as well as 60 frame support from updates; apparently its native PS5 support will feature in this official remaster remaster!
As is yet to be determined, exactly what this native remaster of The Last of Us Part II will feature; however, one could reasonably anticipate improved UHD support, enhanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers as well as other quality-of-life upgrades.
So it is yet to be confirmed if The Last of Us Part II’s remaster will offer discounts to owners of Ghost of Tsushima: Directors Cut for PS4. Hopefully it may mean PC players may see its sequel sooner if released with improved launch stats than The Last of Us Part I did at launch.
As always, we’ll update you if any further developments arise regarding The Last of Us Part II’s release on PlayStation 5.
