Fans of The Witcher 3 can rejoice that after 8 years since its initial release, another update to their game has finally arrived!
CD Projekt Red is not done bringing Geralt of Rivia’s adventures to us yet; recently they announced they’ll add a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2024.
Modders have long been considered integral to video game releases by adding custom cosmetics, maps and even quests created from scratch to existing titles. CD Projekt Red has taken this one step further by developing their official mod editor which will enable players to develop unique content based on preexisting assets within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt title.
“We’re thrilled to share that we are working on a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!” read a tweet by the official account, adding, “it will allow players to create unique experiences within our game whether by creating something entirely new or editing existing quests and content – we plan on releasing this feature free in 2024!”
No longer receiving official content updates as CD Projekt Red works on new projects, The Witcher 3 still continues to receive fan appreciation as CD Projekt Red offers PC players an official mod editor that breathes life back into a title eight years old! However, PC users will only benefit from having this exclusive resource at their disposal.
With The Witcher 4 not due out until at least 2025 (likely beyond), CD Projekt Red will have plenty to keep them busy until then – especially after Cyberpunk 2077 sequel was teased recently! No doubt CD Projekt Red can look forward to an eventful few years even though The Witcher game’s next installment won’t arrive any time soon!
Netflix recently unveiled an animated The Witcher movie which will see Doug Cockle reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia alongside Anya Chalotra who played Yennefer in its live-action adaptation.
