Baldur’s Gate 3 has been recognized by critics and reviewers as the ‘hardiest game of the year’.
When asked to name our favourite video games, most would likely not think immediately about how sexual they might be – if that describes you then take a cold shower asap!
2023 has provided us with some truly outstanding games such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon and many others. Two games likely to win all their awards at The Game Awards 2023 include Alan Wake II and Baldur’s Gate 3, both which appear surefire ways of becoming Game of the Year contenders next month at The Game Awards 2023.
One award that won’t be honored at The Game Awards this year will be for “Horniest Game of the Year”, but that hasn’t prevented fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 from discussing its controversial side and revelling in discussing all that comes along with being Dungeons & Dragons-influenced RPG from Larian Studios.
Redditor embioz1 (via Wired) recently lamented, “Why is everyone so horny?”. They speculated they patched it out so their companions acted more naturally but no, everyone seems so overtly sexual in every conversation with me since the series started (even my companions seeming over-sexualized!). Be warned; please note the Reddit thread does contain spoilers.
They said it had become challenging to find conversations which avoided being either flirtatious or rude with Gale and Astarion who seem determined not to leave me alone, I can’t tell how often Gale triggers me with stories of magic that become too sensual for my taste.”
“Dude, it’s normal. Unfortunately Gale can have those “nice guy” vibes and becomes frustrated that he keeps getting put into friend zone – hoping that by pestering you enough, maybe one day you will sleep with him,” commented one user in response to Gale being friend zoned by another player. If Larian Studios intended Gale as being representative of an ordinary “nice guy”, well done — they certainly achieved their objective!
“Haha! Yeah, well I stopped talking to Gale and Astarion never liked me for whatever reason; so when they both tried to hook up with Halsin I completely lost interest,” replied Lammsauc3. However embioz1 explained their need to talk with both companion stories progressed by communicating with each one as needed in order to advance it; “Obviously they often disagreed with one another but still tried more than once to hookup!”
Baldur’s Gate 3 has now released on PC and PlayStation 5, and should make its way onto Xbox Series X|S within the month.
