Assassin’s Creed Shadows Launches First Hotfix Update
Ubisoft has released the first hotfix update for *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, addressing a few minor issues in the newly launched game. The game, set in feudal Japan and featuring characters Yasuke, an African-born samurai, and Naoe, a female Shinobi, has received positive feedback for its stunning open-world design and gameplay that allows players to choose between stealth or a more combat-focused approach.
Despite some criticisms, *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is seen as a solid addition to the franchise, and Ubisoft Quebec is already working on improving the game with downloadable updates. The hotfix update, version 1.01, weighs in at 8.88GB and resolves several issues, particularly in Photo mode.
On PlayStation 5, the update fixes a crash bug that occurred when fetching photos, while the PC version addresses a crash issue while taking photos.
This update follows a previous pre-launch patch on March 20, which removed the ability to damage shrines and temples, a decision made after controversy surrounding the cultural impact of such actions in Japan.
Ubisoft is expected to release additional updates in the future to further refine the game.
