Bungie Addresses Marathon Pricing Concerns Ahead of Launch

Bungie has responded to growing questions surrounding the price of its upcoming extraction shooter, **Marathon**, but fans hoping for a clear answer will need to wait a bit longer. While the game is confirmed to be a **premium title** and **not free-to-play**, exact pricing details remain undecided.

In a recent interview with streamer **DrLupo**, **Marathon’s assistant director, Del Chafe**, acknowledged the ongoing pricing discussions. However, he stated that he couldn’t provide specifics just yet, only noting that the team is still having “conversations” and that community feedback will play an important role in shaping the final decision.

Despite the vagueness, Chafe reaffirmed Bungie’s goal of building a strong community around Marathon, suggesting that the team wants to ensure the game remains accessible to a wide audience.

In the meantime, **minimum PC requirements** for Marathon were revealed, showing the game can run on modest hardware, including an **Intel Core i5 6600**, **Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti**, and **8GB RAM**—a sign Bungie is aiming for broad accessibility.

**Marathon** enters **Closed Alpha on April 23** with **no NDA**, allowing participants to share gameplay and impressions. An **Open Beta** is expected in **August**, ahead of the game’s full release on **September 23, 2025**.

For now, fans eager for a pricing reveal will have to stay tuned as Bungie continues refining its approach.
