Nintendo Switch 2 Home Menu Supports New Joy-Con Mouse Mode
Nintendo has revealed a handy new feature for the Switch 2: the ability to navigate the Home Menu using the Joy-Con controllers in a unique “mouse mode.” This feature was showcased in a new video shared via the Nintendo Today app and reposted on social media.
Mouse mode works by turning a Joy-Con controller on its side and moving it along a flat surface, similar to a PC mouse. The R button simulates a left-click, while the right stick acts like a scroll wheel. In the demo, Nintendo used the right Joy-Con to smoothly access system menus, including the Controller settings, directly from the Home Menu.
Both left and right Joy-Cons support mouse mode, though it’s unclear if the ZR button will offer right-click functionality. While this feature is primarily designed for system navigation, it will also be supported in select games and apps, such as the upcoming 3v3 sports title *Drag x Drive*.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5 and is expected to sell over 15 million units in its first year.
