Arrowhead Reaffirms Long-Term Commitment to Helldivers 2
Arrowhead Game Studios has reassured fans that Helldivers 2 will remain the studio’s top priority for the foreseeable future. CEO Shams Jorjani addressed concerns on the game’s official Discord, confirming that ongoing support will continue “for a loooong time,” as long as players remain engaged.
Speculation about the game’s future began after Jorjani mentioned a new internal project, codenamed Game 6. While this sparked fears that Arrowhead might shift focus away from Helldivers 2, Jorjani emphasized that the success of the co-op shooter ensures its continued development. “As long as people keep playing and buying Super Credits, we’ll keep it going,” he said.
Helldivers 2 launched in 2024 as a sequel to the original top-down shooter, offering a third-person perspective, large-scale battles, and regular content updates. Despite a rocky period last summer, the game has bounced back with strong player support and a renewed development pipeline.
Jorjani also shared that Game 6 will be entirely self-funded by Arrowhead and developed with lessons learned from the lengthy production of Helldivers 2. However, he stressed that this new project won’t impact the studio’s commitment to its current hit.
For now, Helldivers 2 remains the studio’s flagship title, with more content and updates planned for the future.
