There are two worlds that can complete the circle — which of people and that of demons. Demons are beings much more powerful than individuals, and because of this, they desired to subdue the lesser race. This comes the legend of Sparda, an ancient demon of the underworld who rebelled against his lineage to safeguard people.

Sparda and Eva
Sparda Reigned on the ground, to which he gave peace. This demon fell in love with a woman named Eva, of whom he had twins — both Dante and Vergil, both half brothers and individual ways. Peace lasted until his disappearance. The abandonment of Sparda, in actuality, outlined the destiny of his wife and both twins that too small couldn’t do anything to rescue the mother and were separated from one another.
Two brothers
The Two brothers, though sharing the exact same blood, have two distinct characters. Dante is actually more individual and much more tied into the latter, hates his dad Sparda for having abandoned the family members and also to be, in a feeling, the offender of his mother’s departure. With this, he hates most demons from the depths, and will do whatever he wants to ruin them.
Vergil On the other hand is attached to his dad, who would like to find the Maximum energy of this latter, doing everything possible to conquer it. Past the supernatural forces, the only legacy left from the dad is just two Halves of this Sparda medallion, given by the mother in their birthday.
