This nerf removes both the damage and screen-blinding flashes that opponents experience when they are hit with Seer’s “Focus of Attention” tactical ability. It interrupts enemies who are healing themselves or reviving their teammates. Seer can still play havoc with the last-ditch defence moves of opponents, just as it had since its introduction three weeks ago.

“So he can still cancel my healing, are you serious?” one player said on Twitter shortly after Respawn posted the changes there.

Others believed the nerfs rendered Seer undistinct and even completely useless.

“Nerfed his passive tactical and ultimate, why even make him?” said another player. “Like you were going to nerf everything in his kit… why even create this character?”

This criticism is similar to another from Bloodhound’s other tracking character. Bloodhound mains are upset by Seer’s other talents, which include his tracking ability. If Seer’s disruptive abilities are so overwhelming that it is impossible to tell the difference, why bother with Seer?

“People complaining about the interrupts still being a thing, imo if Seer’s tactical only scanned, he’d be an objectively worse Bloodhound,” said another player.

“Nothing y’all did today was needed,” said another fan, “his biggest issues is how he can cancel everything from heals to res[uscitation] to using an ability.”

Monday’s patch also included a 30-second increase in the cooldown for the Ultimate ability of Seer. This increased from 90 seconds to two minutes. It’s called “Exhibit”, and you may have seen it in the trailers or teaser. A large sphere of microdrones surrounds enemies who run through its area or fire their weapons inside.

These changes also reduce the outer range for Seer’s passive ability, “Heart Seeker”, which aids them in tracking enemies. The reticle turns blue if an enemy is more than 75m away. This reduces the distance an enemy can be identified. For enemies with full hit points, seer players will have to wait half a second between sensor spikes…
