Gaming is often seen as a niche hobby. However, it could be much more mainstream. The revenue generated by the videogame industry is higher than that of both the movie and the music industry.

The popularity of video game stories has increased, and with it, the desire to adopt them into other media. Movie adaptations have been criticized for their poor quality, but recent hits like Uncharted and Sonic The Hedgehog 2 have changed public opinion.

It’s not surprising that even novice gamers discover the wonderful worlds and aesthetics of video games. Eurogamer spotted that the Powerhouse Choir of John Burroughs High School in California won the Hart Encore Choir competition. Their medley was based on the world Rapture from the original BioShock.

The competition’s top awards went to the choir, including Best Soloist, Musicianship, and Showmanship. Unfortunately, there were no Big Daddies. (Or maybe happily, if you’ve seen their helmet). However, they performed in a performance dominated by underwater Rapture songs. The choir is dressed in 1950s style with matching Rapture-esqe props.

Bigger fish also love the glamour and glitz of the 1950s. Rumors abound that Netflix is working on a BioShock TV Show. However, with all the shows the company had to cancel, we won’t be waiting for it to come out anytime soon.
