‘Star Wars: Jedi Knight Remastered’ Available To Download Now

You may recall the Star Wars Jedi Knight videogame series debuting with Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces in 1995. The Star Wars Jedi Knight II sequel was re-released on GOG.com in 2015. Now, one talented modder has taken over, overhauling the entire title.
GeneralTantor, a modder, released the Star Wars: Jedi Knight Remastered mod to celebrate Star Wars Day. Star Wars Jedi Knight II was released in 1997. It has some very old graphics. GeneralTantor’s mod, although it is not an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the game, makes it look great.
The mod file contains JKGFXMOD and the Jedi Knight Neural Upgrade Texture Pack. There is also an enhancement mod. GeneralTantor claims that the file will allow the game to run on new computers while improving performance in certain scenarios. The best part? It’s completely free to download.
GeneralTantor also worked to improve graphics, HUD scaling, and 32-bit color. Gamma correction, ambient Occlusion, parallax mapping, and 32-bit color. A tutorial and demo of 50 minutes were uploaded to YouTube. You can see how much the graphics have improved in just one frame.
Although the Star Wars Jedi Knight series is not making an official return outside of the land where mods are allowed, many great Star Wars games are in the pipeline. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 by Quantic Dreams, Star Wars Eclipse by Electronic Arts, and an unnamed project from Ubisoft. Star Wars fans thrive, right?
