The most significant change to Minecraft since The Wild Update is the introduction of the underground biome, the Deep Dark. This has been known for some time, with the release of the new, terrifying biome, Deep Dark, first being scheduled for 1.17, Caves, and Cliffs. Its release was delayed due to its scarily named Warden and the dense biome.
Update 1.18, Caves and Cliffs Part 2, Minecraft’s World Height was raised, adding blocks to the top and bottom of Minecraft’s world. This is where the Deep Dark enters. The Deep Dark, which is located in the Overworld’s deepest parts, is where you will find new Ancient Cities and the home of the frightening Warden. Be careful of your steps, because one loud movement ( it’s actually three) could cause the Warden to rise from the ground to defend its luxurious and large home from any intruders. You can find valuable loot such as Music Disk fragments, Echo Shards and Saddles if you quietly navigate around the underground palace. You might be able to find the hidden Redstone room if you are really clever.
Muddy Mangrove Swamps
The Wild Update has plenty of content for those who aren’t strong enough to venture down into the Deep Dark anytime soon. The Mangrove Swamp has been added to the Wild Update. This biome is located above ground and is protected from The Warden’s patrol.
The Mangrove Swamp introduced Minecraft to a new type of wood: the beetroot-hued Mangrove Wood. It also introduced us the new Mud family blocks, and the renewable Clay. The Mangrove tree is very different to any other tree in Minecraft. A Mangrove tree does not drop saplings. Instead, it grows a propagule out of its leaves. This can be used to plant a new Mangrove Tree. You don’t need to remove any parts of the tree in order to do so. Mangrove trees can be rooted with new Mangrove Roots or Muddy Mangrove Roots blocks extending into the ground.
