Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has added a Roguelite to the game and Story DLC free of charge
Two years have passed since the release of the Viking fantasy. Ubisoft has just announced some Assassin Creed Valhalla’s DLC, including a roguelite and the last story arc for Eivor Varinsdottir.
Ubisoft presented the final roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s 2nd year of free DLC today at the Assassin’s Creed 15th anniversary celebration. The roadmap includes complimentary festivals, an armoury upgrade, the second Mastery Challenge Pack, new tombs, Eivor’s final story chapter, and Ubisoft’s closing roadmap for em>Assassin’s Creed Vahalla.
The Forgotten Saga takes players back to Niflheim via a mini trailer. It shows glimpses of Loki, her daughter, and molten lava that oozes out of a massive skull’s jaw. Although it’s unclear how the “Roguelite-inspired” mode will work, the protagonist shouts, “Each time I cast you out, will only increase my strength,” so you’ll be able to keep throwing yourself at enemy.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released in 2020. Ubisoft has been surprising to give it a lot (and free) of support throughout the years. Ubisoft has also experienced significant workplace culture issues. There was even a mass exodus from Ubisoft Montreal of the leadership and developers who were responsible for Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Vahalla, respectively, due to low wages and frustration with the current workplace culture.
While it’s great to see games getting consistent support, the priority should be on creating a better environment for developers. One with equal, better paid, no harassment or discrimination and where Ubisoft management takes responsibility for the toxic culture they have created.
