Deadpool 3’s Writer Teases Deadpool’s First MCU Debut

Marvel enthusiasts will be familiar with Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox a while ago. This means that the film rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four now belong to the house mouse. Since then, we’ve wondered how Ryan Reynolds’ snarky mercenary will fit in the family-friendly MCU. Now it’s starting to get a lot clearer.

We know that Deadpool3 will be R-rated again, which is a relief. Remember Wade Wilson’s joke about the MCU? He joked that Sam Jackson would show up with an eyepatch, a leather jacket, and what are you expecting? Deadpool 3’s author is now talking about Wilson’s MCU debut.

Rhett Reese, the Deadpool3 writer, spoke to BroBible’s Podcast. He described the film as a “fish out of water” story that will help Wilson adjust to the new reality of being in the MCU. Given his personality, I am certain he will comment on the whole experience with his usual snark.

Reese stated, “It’s an amazing opportunity for [a] fish-out-of-water [story].” Deadpool is the movie’s central character. It’s easy to drop a lunatic in a very normal world. It’s going be great fun.”

Reese continued to say that the writers might even insert a Morbius humor into the film. This is because Morbius just became the most memorable Marvel movie (I just decreed that title). Reese stated, “We haven’t seen Morbius. We haven’t even seen the memes. It’s now on our radar,” he said, adding that they will “have to” include a joke. Both Deadpool films were excellent, and based on what we have heard about Deadpool 3, we can’t help feeling that we are in for another treat.
