Classic FPS Franchises may inspire New South Park Game.
South Park is an animated sitcom that has been a classic. However, there are mixed results when it comes to game adaptations. I remember playing 1999’s South Park with my PlayStation. The first-person shooter was a bit lacking… but Obsidian Entertainment’s South Park: The Stick of Truth is a ton of fun. Even a magic fart attack is available. What’s not love about this show? However, South Park’s next title looks like an equally famous franchise will inspire it.
Question Games is currently working on a new South Park-inspired game. However, they have kept their plans secret, not revealing what material they will adapt to. Although we know that Question Games was founded in 2009 by former BioShock developers, it seems like their experience with the FPS franchise could have influenced the new South Park title.
GameRant pointed out that BioShock made sure its “narratives, characters and level designs all went hand-in-hand”, and they believe this development approach could impact the new South Park title. GameRant stated that BioShock had all the animations and skills necessary to support the game’s themes. It was not a feature that was added just for the sake.
They said South Park is a fully-fledged world “created” by the foul-mouthed children. This should give developers plenty of material to create a coherent narrative and gameplay. South Park won’t use BioShock’s dark tone, but it’s possible that the developers could make use of what they have learned from the franchise.
