Nintendo Switch finally welcomes Classic Game Boy Pokemon back.

Nintendo has recently put in the effort to add many retro titles to its Nintendo Switch Online services, with Legend of Zelda dominating playability but now offering The Pokemon Trading Card Game too!

Imagine yourself back to 1998: you’re sitting comfortably on your bed playing digital version of Pokemon TCG on Gameboy and everything seems right with the world.

Now, however, nostalgia can come flooding back as this classic Gameboy title finally makes its way onto Nintendo Switch through Pokemon Presents – as two classic titles such as Pokemon Stadium 2 are also now available!

Even though gamers can enjoy Pokemon TCG easily whenever they desire – in person or through its app – these modern versions don’t really represent how its creators intended the experience to unfold. Only 1998 digital OG is where you’ll truly experience Pokemon as its creators intended it.

If you need any convincing that fans are excited, just check out this Reddit thread to witness all the enthusiasm surrounding Nintendo Expansion Pack update.

One user exclaimed, “TCG!! This game is such an unexpected gem from my memory – so unique and unusual yet wonderfully executed,” while another fan remembered facing Wigglytuff! An entire generation of Pokemon fans are soon going to face him! “He will surely cause some real havoc!”

While it’s great that old school Pokemon titles are making their way onto Switch, no details have yet been given regarding Red, Blue Yellow or Silver which fans want far more than either Pokemon Stadium 2 or Trading Card Game.

Some fans were so disgruntled by the lack of news in August’s Pokemon Presents that they labeled it as the worst one to date; though this matter can always be debated and we won’t enter that debate ourselves.

Are You Wondering If the Pokemon Trading Card Game Is for You? Ask Yourself This First If this is your first experience playing The Pokemon Trading Card Game and are still on the fence as to whether it will fit with you, consider this simple question: “Am I an True Pokemon Fan?”. Most likely your answer will be Yes.

Even if this is your first time playing TCG, that doesn’t matter; in fact, some may prefer this format due to its unique charm compared to physical TCG games.

With hundreds of cards to collect and RPG-like gameplay that includes challenging battles, this fan favorite provides an experience unlike some mainline titles. But in order to fully enjoy it, players will require both an active Nintendo Switch Online account as well as its Expansion Pack to participate fully.
