PlayStation Plus’ controversial free game, Anthem, has attracted an enormously large number of players.
Although September’s PlayStation Plus free games weren’t well received by players overall, one title stands out among them as particularly captivating and is drawing huge amounts of players into it.
PlayStation Plus is under fire from fans who are unhappy with its current state. Sony recently instituted a price increase, purportedly to improve player experiences with PlayStation Plus subscription service.
Fans have rejected Sony’s claim, asserting they cannot justify its new price with subpar gaming titles like Saints Row: Essential Tier Lineup in September; Saints Row, Black Desert Traveler Edition and Generation Zero were especially disappointing offerings and failed to meet user expectations.
Saints Row has proven itself an unlikely hit since its initial reception; initially met with harsh critics due to being inferior to its predecessor trilogy; this criticism remains however; unfortunately due to no plans being announced by developer as they make clear they do not plan any remakes for any of these titles.
Though initially doubted by critics, the reboot has done exceptionally well with regard to concurrent players. Initial spikes came from users redeeming free PlayStation Plus points through using it; as well as mild curiosity over whether or not people had claimed its quality as being too poor.
Saints Row has shown incredible resilience since becoming available as a free title – keeping 86% of players playing! Although that could simply reflect people enjoying it or finding themselves without anything better to play is unclear; nonetheless it remains surprising nonetheless.
Volition, the developer behind Saints Row reboot, recently made headlines when its activities were abruptly discontinued due to poor success with reboot. As a result, its future remains unclear and remains a potential risk.
