Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are angry after news began spreading that Rockstar Games’ famed Western is coming to Nintendo Switch, sparking debate on Reddit about why this would be bad news or whether even real news should exist at all.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may or may not work on a Nintendo Switch given its size, graphics and artificial intelligence (AI), according to reports; secondly – should this report prove true – Rockstar Games might select their Western adventure over Grand Theft Auto V as its next title release?

One Redditor made this observation after seeing the Rockstar logo, recalling an iconic scene from The Terminator with Sarah Connor being hit with nuclear fireballs, prompting similar remarks by others on Reddit. One Redditor noted, “Me after seeing Rockstar logo,” coupled with an iconic scene in The Terminator where Sarah Connor is hit by nuclear blasts; many more made similar observations at once; this may reflect larger issues on Nintendo Switch which has struggled under open world games even recently with Pokemon Go experiencing significant performance issues so is it even capable of running RDR2 properly?

Some fans speculate that this news, from a ratings board in Brazil, could portend that this game would serve as the launch title for Nintendo Switch 2, which may possess graphic capabilities comparable to last generation consoles.

There have also been those questioning Rockstar’s choice to release RDR2 over GTAV, the latter of which many consider their flagship franchise (not Table Tennis!). Another Redditor voiced concern, asking “Instead of porting RDR1 onto RDR2 engine and release on Switch, are they instead going back and porting RDR1 back onto it to release as RDR2?” Personally, I would prefer seeing new-gen RDR2.

Commenters often summarized the situation by simply writing, “240p/10fps”. It will be interesting to watch how things develop further.
