With an open world stealth franchise ranging from 15th century Italy to 18th century Colonial America, Assassin’s Creed continues its march of virtual historical recreations. Thanks to one fan, we now can imagine what Assassin’s Creed might look like set against ancient Rome!

Today we bring you another fan-made Assassin’s Creed trailer, entitled ‘Assassin’s Creed Legion, which takes place during the final years of Marcus Aurelius’ rule in Ancient Rome. Created by Maxim Prikhodchenko, in this world you play either as Cassius or Lucia who are descendants from assassins featured in Odyssey or Origins respectively.

This trailer begins with our first glimpse at the Colosseum with Marcus Aurelius’ words echoing through it and an Ezio’s Family rendition being played as we see various looks at Roman army members during his speech before we see our first look of Bayek and Aya from Assassin’s Creed Origins as they race across moonlit rooftops before entering Roman temples to spy. Finally, an unnamed protagonist murders Caesar while Aya states ‘Freedom isn’t given; It must be taken!” before our unnamed protagonist kills Caesar while Aya states: ‘Freedom isn’t given; It must be taken”. Finally the trailer ends with our protagonist killing Caesar whilst Aya states: ‘Freedom is not given; It must be taken”.

As fan-made trailers go, this one is pretty impressive and should Ubisoft ever decide to set an Assassin’s Creed installment in Ancient Rome, this could provide some excellent inspiration. Unfortunately for them though, Ubisoft Studios are too busy creating more games such as Mirage which will launch October 5, Codename Red Jade Nexus VR Invictus Hexe etc for that to occur any time soon!

Mirage will debut later this week for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 Xbox One and PC users alike. It follows assassin Basim operating in 9th century Baghdad; such is its accuracy that one historian recently shed a tear when she watched it!
