Overwatch 2 has proven itself time and time again as the gift that keeps giving, most recently with premium-priced Diablo 4 skins being released for purchase.

Blizzard Entertainment’s controversial first-person shooter Overwatch has officially kicked off its seventh season with an elaborate Halloween update and collaboration between this game and Diablo IV – two other Blizzard properties – set as landmark events this fall.

Season 7 bundle includes both Battle Passes as well as two Diablo IV skins for Moira and Pharah: Moira gives her Lilith-esque abilities while Pharah can transform into the legendary angel Inarius himself!

Although these new skins look incredible, their price has caused controversy within the community – each bundle will set you back $40 which is almost the cost of purchasing an entirely new game!

Overwatch 2’s microtransactions have long been the source of outrage among players, who largely feel that just because it is free-to-play doesn’t justify Blizzard’s exorbitant prices in its item shop. Recently, players also expressed outrage after Blizzard decided not to include free story missions but rather charged separately to access them.

Now the new Diablo skins have added fuel to this firestorm; reports indicate that players wearing skins are getting harassed in online matches for wearing them and receiving harassment due to them.

Adorable-Fact4378 recently shared their recent online experience, wherein other players harassed them for wearing Lilith Moira skins.

As they expressed it: “Look I understand…the Lilith bundle can be prohibitively costly for what it offers you; however, harassing someone in an online match over their purchase seems outright offensive to me… If my spending $40 earned by me has upset you then so be it; just deal with it”.

Fans, as a consensus, acknowledged the fact that you could express displeasure with Blizzard’s microtransaction practices without engaging in harassment against those who find them acceptable.

“All I can think is they must have plenty of disposable income and to harass another is ridiculous”

“Harassing someone over that issue is ridiculous”

“Chat mutes make my games far superior!”

Overwatch 2 is now free to play on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
