Blizzard announced, as part of Steam’s autumn sale, that Diablo IV is free-to-play from 22 to 28 November for an experimental week trial period.
Diablo IV’s fate since being released this June has been unpredictable. From becoming Blizzard’s fastest selling game ever to receiving negative reviews on Steam, Diablo IV shows no signs of bowing out easily.
Blizzard understands this need, which is why they are offering players the chance to experience Diablo IV on Steam for free, along with 40% discounts across all versions of the game. That way if you enjoy Sanctuary and wish to continue the full experience then instead of paying PS59.99 you could grab either standard edition for PS35.99, or splash out even further and purchase digital deluxe edition for PS47.99 rather than 79.99 which comes complete with cosmetic items and battle pass unlock!
Diablo IV’s current Mother’s Blessing event increases your experience points and Gold by 35% until 27 November – this makes life easier for concurrent players, yet can make things challenging for free-trial users since progressing past level 20 happens quickly due to extra XP gained. Therefore it remains unknown just how long of playback time will actually be available to you during this trial period.
