Halo 2 can now be enjoyed entirely from third-person perspective.
As is well known, mainline Halo games have always been first person shooter titles; but thanks to modding community efforts you are now able to experience both Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition and Halo 2 Anniversary Edition from third person viewpoint!
These mods by Davide Di Fortunato are fully compatible with both games in the Master Chief Collection when switching between different graphics modes – something especially beneficial to nostalgia seekers as well as polygon lovers!
Nexusmods’ latest offering can now be easily downloaded for free by accessing them here and here, then placed according to instructions in appropriate folders on your phone for use.
Although playing Halo in third person might seem alienating for some people, I can understand its appeal for others and would definitely like to give it a go at least once. You already enter it when using Minigun weapons from stock versions of Halo so it should make for an interesting experiment…
If you install this mod to experience third-person action, don’t be alarmed when your game(s) begins in first person view; the mod will only activate once weapons become part of your arsenal and should remain installed until this point. Don’t attempt any uninstallation/reinstall until then as any attempts at uninstallation/reinstallation could prove futile.
After that, you’ll experience all three campaign(s) in third-person glory – fighting off Covenant once more to defend our world from destruction!
If this new way to experience these classic titles was enjoyable for you, rest assured that most mainline Halo games contain third-person mods as well – whether that means Reach or the more recent Infinite with which to experiment from a unique viewpoint are also included in that lineup of Halo titles.
