Diablo 4 developers are said to be considering adding a $100 DLC expansion pack.
Though we shouldn’t assume anything, most players likely wouldn’t accept paying $100 for DLC expansions in Diablo 4. But according to reports from Diablo 4 developers they may consider such an action plan in future updates of Diablo 4.
Bellular News reports on this development by saying they received a confidential Diablo 4 survey conducted by Blizzard Entertainment that asked its players about whether or not they’d feel comfortable paying between $49.99 to $99.99 for expansion packs – clearly this difference makes a big impactful statement about player preferences and needs.
Hero skins, seasonal currencies and other add-ons have been suggested within said survey; both Gamestar+ and Try Hard Guides appear to confirm four price tiers for them. Blizzard reported that higher tiers would include not just cosmetic extras but also an accompanying companion who will “provide conveniences such as accessing your stash or gold pickups”.
Any innovation which makes gaming simpler for us – particularly our inventory – seems attractive; but aren’t sure we would pay such an exorbitant sum to enjoy its benefits.
As part of their survey response, top tiers also indicated they could gain early access to “unique gear or Legendary aspects that won’t be released until after expansion”. That would certainly be an appealing bonus!
As with any purported inside information, it should be treated with caution until it has been officially unveiled by developers and publishers. Otherwise it could easily lead to overreacting like Grand Theft Auto fans “predicting” its GTA 6 trailer date since January 1. Speculation can also lead to outlandish claims like one gamer believing GTA VIII may soon arrive…
Even if this survey is authentic, few Diablo 4 players would spend so much money immediately for early access items or new friends.
