Microsoft released an Xbox update with many highly requested features
Microsoft has been busy making changes that will satisfy its player base with their latest Xbox update, featuring much-requested features sure to please its gamers.
Many quality-of-life features will significantly enhance PC players’ experiences; although console gamers may also see some advantages. But PC users in particular will see far greater noticeable advantages from such features.
Windows devices – from smartphones and laptops alike – will be capable of downloading this update, with handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally confirmed as compatible – offering gaming enthusiasts on-the-go peace of mind without any hurdles to their fun!
Xbox’s new Compact Mode stands out as being particularly helpful, according to Microsoft, offering gamers “an enhanced gaming experience by providing an easier user interface on smaller screens. As someone who struggles to read smaller displays without straining my eyes too much, I welcome such an accessible interface.”
By activating Compact Mode, the sidebar you normally see will be broken up into individual icons for much greater screen space efficiency – an incremental change that makes a huge impactful statement about our digital lives.
Another change brings another noticeable impact: notifications. Now the Xbox PC app shows only unread notifications rather than all. I think that should have been available before now! Lastly, gamers requested the Gaming Services Repair Tool, an indispensable way for Xbox app users to address service-related problems or rectify missing content issues within the service itself.
Console players also enjoy some notable features worth highlighting; Microsoft recently adding Japanese language support for both physical and virtual keyboards was long overdue; in addition, gamers can now authenticate and redeem codes using mobile phones as well as using console controllers themselves to redeem codes for unlocks or redeem.
Imagine Xbox achieving their ambition of expanding Game Pass across PlayStation and Switch platforms: the results could be devastating!
