Xbox Series S bundle comes complete with physical copy of FIFA 23 game.
At this time of year, and especially as Christmas nears, many of us seek bargain consoles and games at reduced prices.
So when purchasing a console like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch it can be pleasing to have one already equipped with its own game; something we can jump straight into right away if that is what is desired.
Not everyone wants a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X with disc drive; some may opt instead for digital-only consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox Series S which doesn’t come bundled with physical games – the options may not always make the best sense when shopping around!
Well not when we talk about German retailer MediaMarkt. Twitter user OnlyGoodGames shared an image showing this retailer offering digital-only Xbox Series S consoles bundled with physical copies of FIFA 23 from last year – rendering this unplayable on any console and not including EA Sports FC 24 which came out recently!
At its heart is an Xbox One version of FIFA 23 with prices that don’t reflect that fact – as seen with current Euro to Pound conversion. At EUR299.99 (that works out to about PS260), this bundle can be picked up for EUR299- PS250 individually while FIFA 23 would run you around PS20 extra; even without factoring this unplayable title into account, its bundle price doesn’t seem too enticing; moreover, with EA Sports FC 24 coming soon, FIFA 23 may become significantly less valuable over time compared with what its worth was before release of EA Sports FC 24 this summer; as soon thereafter its value will continue decreasing exponentially as EA Sports FC 24 comes on market this summer; its value could rapidly depreciate over time; further reduced by EA Sports FC 24 competition;
I hope that with this tweet making the rounds on social media, this retailer may have modified his bundle accordingly – at least within his store itself – but living 700 miles from Germany makes checking its prices impractical for me at this time.
EA Sports FC 24 can now be downloaded onto PCs, PlayStations, Xboxes and Nintendo Switch systems.
