GTA 6 gameplay may have been posted early by developer’s son; it appears.
Even without an official trailer yet available for GTA VI, gameplay leaks continue to surface online – this time from one developer’s son!
As a developer for an AAA title with an expansive budget and production timeline, one of your worst nightmares would be having your child expose it before its time has come – or worse still leaking it without you realising.
Rockstar Games developer’s worst nightmare appears to have come true after their son publicly shared top-secret gameplay for GTA VI online, providing fans a closer glimpse at its open world environment.
While Rockstar is often quick to pull leaks online, this tweet was left up at time of writing and appears authentic despite many speculations to the contrary. Due to blurriness of footage it’s difficult to determine whether this gameplay footage is real or whether some elaborate hoax has taken place behind closed doors.
Some are suggesting the leaks must be fake as gameplay seems similar to GTA V’s graphics; others can even recognize some locations from GTA VI in the background. GTA VI will take place primarily in Vice City but there have been reports that other cities such as Los Santos or Liberty City might also feature.
Rockstar recently announced plans to release a full trailer of their game next Thursday (5 December), so we should soon find out whether this speculation is accurate. If gameplay matches up with leaks online it would indicate legitimacy – unfortunately for any Rockstar developer involved with developing such game!
Fans have taken to criticizing those leaking information before its official unveiling, believing the more leaks occur the greater effort Rockstar must exert into deleting them and thus less time spent developing its game itself.
Assuming the leak proves accurate, we hope the developer doesn’t come under too much strain if its authenticity proves itself; though given GTA V’s track record this seems unlikely.
