Since 2007, when Assassin’s Creed started rolling out new releases we have witnessed classic games such as II & Brotherhood; Revelations; Odyssey to name just a few.

One other entry from Ubisoft’s series considered among its best is 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and my personal opinion says it all: this game remains my favourite in my eyes!

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was an irresistibly fun Assassin’s Creed experience from start to finish – from Edward Kenway as its charismatic lead character, through to its engaging combat and stealth mechanics and its rich pirate fantasy setting on the open seas. Even today it still looks breathtaking when played on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S systems; which makes fans hopeful for its possible remake rumor speculations.

“In 1715, pirates have established their own lawless Republic where corruption, greed and cruelty reign supreme – among these outlaws stands an intimidating young captain named Edward Kenway.” So begins the description for this game.

Redditors on Reddit continue to show their affection for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag even years later, in particular its gameplay and combat system. “[Black Flag] holds up so well; although its story and detail may not compare with a Bethesda RPG’s, its gameplay remains nonstop perfect with varied combat experience and parkour activities that keep things exciting,” according to Redditor kallenl8.

“Hold on there – story not meh?” asked Inspector-Remarkable in response to your argument about story being unimpressive. There was more character development than in Valhalla and great depictions of Blackbeard that I have ever seen (Blackbeard is perhaps my favourite portrayal in any form), plus an engaging storyline which fits well into its setting.” Inspector Remarkable offered his perspective and disagreed that old AC games weren’t memorable enough: they actually enjoyed most aspects.

“Assassin’s Creed II has become my go-to game…,” noted Fucklebrother. In response, Rissay_mn replied with its best soundtrack in AC series as his vote of support.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has arrived on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms.
