Another year is drawing to an end and we still don’t have an official sequel for Fallout: New Vegas; though for now this prequel should suffice.

Bethesda should bring back Obsidian Entertainment for another Fallout game or take steps to update it using current gaming hardware, yet that has yet to happen.

As one of the most beloved Fallout titles ever created, one would assume Bethesda’s new Lord and Master Xbox would push hard for an Xbox-exclusive sequel; unfortunately it does not seem likely at present.

Fans have taken it upon themselves to provide more content set within Mojave wasteland with Fallout: New California as an official prequel game.

As its name implies, Fallout: New California expands upon one of the many factions you could support during Fallout New Vegas: the New California Republic (NCR). Though generally unfavorable due to inferior firepower and dull ideologies, I tend to avoid aligning myself with this faction during playthroughs – however Fallout: New California does an admirable job at making them interesting!

Adds hours and hours of new content to the game with new characters fully voiced-acted for voiceover, including original quests that you must complete to unlock them all. Also explore a new area, meet different warring factions, and enlist help from several companion NPCs – take a look at its narrative trailer here for an idea of its scope!

Overall it’s an outstanding expansion to one of the greatest RPGs of all time and should stand as its own release despite having been developed by fans.

One day we may see an updated Mojave for Xbox Series X/S and PC, either as an in-depth remake of an ageing classic or continuing its many endings with another installment in this franchise.
