Lord Of The Rings fans are eagerly awaiting an animated series focusing on The Rangers Of The North.
Some may claim there have been too many Lord of The Rings adaptations, but those people would be incorrect. Fans are eager for another TV series focused on an ensemble that has captured our interest since we first encountered their story.
I refer to the Rangers of the North.
In the scenes, these noblemen and women used their prowess as fighters to protect vulnerable members of society – with legend even telling of them covering the Shire! Unfortunately, due to their appearance and shadowy operation, many saw these noble fighters more as threats than helping forces.
“That description only scratches the surface,” explained one Reddit thread from an avid Lord of the Rings fan. This prompted another of these crusaders, the Rangers of the North, to take center stage as television series heroes. In response to such speculation on a Reddit thread, one such fan asked whether or not “it would be epic if there were an epic TV series dedicated to these wonderful individuals?.”
Unsurprisingly, they weren’t alone in their desires.
“That would be cool!” agreed another fan, as “I am really intrigued by Tolkien’s portrayal of rangers as this oddball bunch who act more like noble knights errant while selflessly protecting those living in northern regions from ignorance and their enemies.”
Given how highly-regarded The Lord of the Rings trilogy has become among cinema’s premier trilogies, it’s understandable why people want more tales from its lore brought to the screen – however many fear Hollywood isn’t the appropriate setting.
“While I would love to see these stories brought back into life by Hollywood today, I simply do not trust their version to do the story justice. Hollywood would likely alter too many elements for contemporary audiences that destroys its authenticity – I want my favorite tales unaltered until this era has ended!” said one Redditor.
Not entirely agreeing with their cynicism, we understand that any adaptation must be as faithful to vital stories as possible to succeed. Perhaps after we judge the Fallout TV series for ourselves, we might consider creating one about Rangers of the North…?
