Analysts predict the release date and price for Nintendo Switch 2.
Since the current-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles’ debut, fans have eagerly awaited when Nintendo will bring us its next system; an analyst predicts it may happen this year with Switch 2.
Rumours regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 have swirled for some time, yet Nintendo has yet to confirm when or if its next console may arrive. Many believe it could come this year, and an analyst recently validated their price and release date claims.
At its debut in 2017, Nintendo Switch became one of the fastest-selling gaming systems ever seen on the American market. Since its initial release, many Nintendo fans may feel it is time for the Japanese gaming giant to release its next-gen console and experience all its excellent titles, such as Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario RPG remake on Switch. However, some Nintendo fans may believe it’s time for their company to release another version.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Kantan Games analyst Dr Serkan Toto believes the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch this year at some point and carry a price point of $400. Based on current console costs in the UK (around PS350- PS380), this could put its initial launch cost between $299.99 (US) and PS279.99 (UK) back then compared with today.
Dr Serkan Toto stated that Nintendo could develop and release multiple versions of the Switch Pro at some point; he said this speculation by noting the Switch 2 release is expected in 2024, meaning this might not happen immediately, though with Nintendo having done so often before it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see more than one version emerge from development at any given point in time.
At this stage, it would be wise to treat reports about a Nintendo Switch 2 with caution until more evidence emerges; hopefully, an official confirmation should occur within months either way.
