Starfield finally boasts pilotable mechs, which you can now test out! You can take a closer look now.
Bethesda finally released Starfield on PC and Xbox Series X|S in September 2023 after years of anticipation, much to everyone’s delight!
Does Starfield live up to all its years of hype? That depends on who’s asking; some found Starfield one of the top games of 2023, while for others, it may have fallen flat. On the one hand, traveling through space, partaking in missions, and making discoveries while meeting NPCs can be fun, but some could argue space exploration wasn’t quite what we expected, while randomized planets may feel bland. However, a Bethesda representative might disagree if anyone tried characterizing Starfield dull!
With time and Bethesda content updates, Starfield should become even better for those disappointed with its initial pre-launch hype. We might see more activity and freedom in outer space; perhaps one day, there may even be vehicles for exploring barren planets! Whatever people may or may not think of Starfield right now, I still see excellent game potential there!
Bethesda boasts a vibrant modding community, as seen with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, so hopefully, Starfield won’t be any different. However, some famous Bethesda modders may already have given up. At least one active Starfield modder wants to improve your experience of playing it on PC – watch for them when browsing mods!
PC Gamer recently reported on an ambitious modder’s goal to add pilotable mechs to Starfield – how awesome!? His name is Jared Kohr, and test piloting of in-game mechs has already begun, using model number M150 as its mech model.
The mech seems perfectly at home in Starfield from Jared Kohr’s YouTube gameplay footage uploaded to his channel. It makes me question why Bethesda never included such features – not least, considering it even comes equipped with functional weapons!
Bethesda’s decision not to include vehicles in Starfield indicates a place for mechs within it, even if Bethesda opts not to officially add mechs or any land vehicles into Starfield itself. In any event, we can always count on talented modders bringing new life to beloved games through modding.
Remember that Starfield’s mod is still very early in development; much work remains, yet hopefully, the results will compensate for their long wait. It is now available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, plus it is known as an Xbox Game Pass subscription bonus feature. Hopefully, your patience will be rewarded soon enough!
