At the beginning of the game, you will see a summary of the Venom plot and Peter Parker’s fight with Venom on the football field of his high school. Ultimate Spider-Man allows the player to explore Manhattan and Queens in a city-wide environment.
In story mode, the game switches automatically between Spider-Man (the main character) and Venom. Spider-Man moves by swinging his web and uses acrobatics to attack. Venom uses his tentacles and massive leaps to travel. Venom uses his tentacles and claws to attack. Venom is also able to throw cars and carry out more violent attacks. This includes “eating” humans. To swing the web, players must fire a shot at a building. This is similar to Spider-Man 2’s previous version.
