Minecraft Dungeons cross-play is one of the major subjects in the player base. Namely, people are wondering where just to discover cross-play at Minecraft Dungeons; or, for that matter, is there a cross-play option in any way. Folks have friends who play friends that use another platform, and would love to be in a position to do this here, also. That is what we’ll be discussing in our Crossplay in Minecraft Dungeons article.
Crossplay in Minecraft DungeonsCan you Perform Minecraft Dungeons in Cross-play?
Unfortunately, no, you cannot play with Minecraft Dungeons in cross-play, aka with buddies playing on various platforms compared to you. At least, not at start, which will be when we are writing this article. There are online multiplayer (as well as local multiplayer), but only with people which are playing on the same platform. Also, saved games and advancement generally can not be transferred from platform to platform, which can be pretty sucky.
That is not to say that there is not likely to be cross-play in the future. Presumably, the developers are staggering the launch of cross-play till they’re in a position to provide it to everyone, such as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. In any event, we know for certain it will be available somewhere down the line. Or, as the Minecraft Dungeons FAQ puts it:”Our goal is to let everybody play together regardless of stage, and we are looking forward to enabling cross-platform play in a future free game upgrade.”
As it stands now, however, there’s not cross-play in Minecraft Dungeons. Hopefully, you won’t have to wait for too long before the devs add it.
