Assassin’s Creed: Universes Beyond has officially been unveiled!
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series continues to develop across numerous mediums – not only as video games but also through other forms of entertainment such as movies or books.
Dicebreaker reported on how the latest installment in Assassin’s Creed series will make an entry into Magic: The Gathering by Wizards of the Coast tabletop card gaming series. New booster packs for Magic will join other collaborations including Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Jurassic Park and Warhammer 40k that already exist.
Wizards of the Coast is an arm of Hasbro owned by Hasbro Inc, and during Gen Con 2023 panel they showcased new Assassin’s Creed booster packs which tell a narrative set within Magic: The Gathering featuring Egypt, Greece Italy and Scandinavia as key locations – last of these being where its latest videogame release Assassin’s Creed Valhalla took place!
Dicebreaker reports that at this stage the specific contents of Assassin’s Creed booster cards remain unclear, making their distribution either randomised or semi-randomised, possibly drawn from limited run themes. Dicebreaker has reached out to Wizards of the Coast in search of clarity.
Kassandra from Assassn’s Creed Odyssey will soon make her triumphant return in an anticipated entry of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Furthermore, other fan favourites (including Kassandra) will return in an all new first person Assassin’s Creed title that completely shifts emphasis away from parkour-focused gameplay.
As for other major releases on the way, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will arrive for PC, PlayStation and Xbox on 12 October 2023. Focusing heavily on stealth gameplay like its 2007 predecessor did with Basim Ibn Ishaq from Valhalla as its protagonist, Mirage looks set to make quite the splash upon its arrival on 12 October 2023.
