Uncharted fans demand a remake as Drake’s Fortune marks 16 years on Earth.

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series for PlayStation is an immensely beloved franchise with fans that remain hopeful for its return.

Uncharted’s final release came with 2022’s Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC and PlayStation 5. This compilation included modern remasters of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy games.

Naughty Dog fans alike would surely agree that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End should be given its due before moving forward into another console generation. Since 2016, no new game from this series has been released since 2007 for PS3, when Uncharted first debuted with that console generation (PS3). I believe all Naughty Dog fans agree on one thing – its series deserves one last game before we take our leave from Naughty Dog!

2007’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune recently celebrated its 16th anniversary and fans have long pushed for its remake to take place. We already got an enhanced remake using The Nathan Drake Collection’s enhanced Tempest Engine– the same engine powering The Last of Us Part I remake– in 2015 but imagine if treasure hunting were done using PS5’s enhanced Tempest Engine! Treasure hunting could never look so rewarding!

Naughty Dog celebrated 16 years of their UNCHARTED series today by tweeting out this update from Naughty Dog: UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune was first launched for PS3 back on November 19, 2007 with Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher and Victor Sullivan all making appearances!

Fans have also expressed their desire for Uncharted 5 to be released as well as for its predecessor to receive an overhaul, using Twitter as a forum to express this sentiment. “Still waiting for Uncharted 5, replied LOSTyGIRL.” Meanwhile Chito suggested, “we need native remake of original trilogy on PS5.”

Luke Flux beseeched Amy Hennig to give the original trilogy (and Golden Abyss) the treatment given The Last of Us Part I by giving “Remake it, please. Give the original trilogy (and Golden Abyss) that The Last of Us Part I treatment,” as Virtual Sphere extolled Amy for creating one of gaming’s most enjoyable series; she wrote beautiful dialogue that made us fall in love with Drake, all his fellow castmates, and Amy herself; their writing made us remember just why we will remember forever what an incredible Queen she truly was.”

At present, Naughty Dog is focused on getting The Last of Us Part II Remastered out for PS5 by January 2024, along with standalone multiplayer game, not to mention The Last of Us Part III which could even come out sooner! While fans would likely welcome any Uncharted game released soon as well as having it developed by Blue Point Games or another top team such as them I won’t hold my breath waiting any time soon for its arrival!

Are you craving a bit of Uncharted action? Not only is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection available through PS Plus subscription plans but so too is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4 (also compatible with PS5) which contains remasters of its original trilogy games.
