Xbox’s open world game brings Resident Evil meets Minecraft together into one immersive, realistic experience.
Xbox players will soon gain access to an open world survival game they can enjoy together with friends.
Given Xbox’s goal to connect various platforms for online gaming, specifically Xbox consoles and PC, it seems only natural for more PC exclusive titles to arrive on Xbox.
Scum will soon join Xbox’s growing library as a survival game reminiscent of both Resident Evil and Minecraft, according to some critics.
According to its description, Scum revolves around reality TV gone haywire; with audiences demanding increasingly violent entertainment which leads to an epic struggle for survival through television broadcast.
Starting as an early access title on Steam in 2018, Scum Island quickly improved with new updates bringing additional content. According to its description for its latest iteration: “TEC1’s Scum Island marks an entirely different battleground this season as fan favourites and new prisoners alike clash ruthlessly for survival against each other while striving for viewer and producer support as they battle it out for fame, gifts and life after death!.”
Simulation and realism play a huge role in this gameplay experience; players must manage aspects such as hunger, temperature and injuries in order to survive the game; all made harder due to monsters roaming the island.
Now it has been confirmed that once the game reaches 1.0 update status, it will become available on Xbox platforms – though no release date was specified at time of writing.
However, this game should make for an entertaining multi-player title and single-player experience if you enjoy simulation and horror gaming.
Scum can currently be played on PC via Steam and is expected to arrive for Xbox in 2024, hopefully.
