The Elder Scrolls VII is still very far away. Most insiders place The Elder Scrolls VI release time at 2025. This is how far we are from a release.

Tyler McVicker , an ex-Valve News Network insider, correctly predicted the existence a Half Life prequel months before Half Life: Alyx was revealed. suggested earlier in the year that the game wouldn’t launch until 2026. We know that Bethesda’s 2022 RPG Starfield is the main focus. Therefore, The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be launched in earnest until at least 2020.

If The Elder Scrolls VI launches in 2026, it will be a staggering 15 years since its predecessor, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. It’s been 10 years since Skyrim launched. We don’t know much about the expected sequel.

In a recent interview, Todd Howard, director of Bethesda Game Studios, acknowledged the enormous chasm between these two games. As part of a 10th anniversary Skyrimretrospective Howard stated that he would love to see The Elder Scrolls VI released sooner than later, but it is just not possible.

“Would it be possible to have the same gap between Skyrim and the follow-up?” Howard stated that he couldn’t agree with Howard. “I wish that I could wave a magic wand and make the game we want, but it just came out. Yes. There are other things that we would like to do. We spent a lot time and effort on Fallout 4. Fallout76 was what we wanted.

We felt like doing Starfield – we had long wanted to do something different and explore a new world. If not now–I’m going to go back in time. We started it right after Fallsout 4. So 2015, the end of it. It felt like the when. If we didn’t do this then, it could have been never.

“And we felt pretty satisfied with Elder Scrolls as a franchise. Particularly with Elder Scrolls Online. We knew that Starfield was what we wanted.”

Howard said that the main reason for The Elder Scrolls VI being delayed is Bethesda’s desire to do it right.

He concluded, “Hope Elder Scrolls VII you don’t want it to say hey that it’s worthwhile that kind of wait but that it does stand against the series as it has always been in a really large, impactful way for when they come out.”
