According to reports, Assassin’s Creed Titans may have been saved from cancellation.

Reportedly, an Assassin’s Creed game that had once appeared dead has come back into development and appears to be underway again.

Ubisoft has been keeping busy recently with 11 Assassin’s Creed titles scheduled over the coming years; from new releases like Assassin’s Creed Mirage to mobile games and VR experiences. Even an update for Black Flag remake is in development!

On top of all that, another AC game may have made an unexpected comeback: Assassin’s Creed Titans was thought to have been cancelled many months prior but has reportedly made its comeback!

Reddit user DudeWithName recently shared an anonymous post containing purported details regarding an active development project by Konami called Star Force: Starforce of Legends that seems to offer insights into genre, story and gameplay for what seems like an entirely different take on its trademark formula.

At first, Assassin’s Creed Titans was planned as more of a Monster Hunter-esque experience; where players would hunt and battle mythological creatures similar to those found in Odyssey or Valhalla. Unfortunately, this plan seems to have changed and was replaced with live service brawler/looter model inspired by Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers or more recently Gotham Knights games.

This game will also see the return of many beloved series characters like Edward Kenway, Altair and Evie Frye who may serve as merchants within Ezio’s Villa Auditore hub-world.

Four classes will be selectable: Spartan, Apache, Medjay and Viking – each featuring distinct skills and playstyles while calling back to previous centuries where these games take place. Spartans use sword and shield attacks while supplementing them with buffs while Apache’s agile two axes may change battle stances with ease; Medjays offer traversal abilities with double jump and enhanced parkour abilities while Vikings serve as vital tanks capable of healing allies while rejuvenating them during fights.

Fans appear unimpressed with this proposed title, particularly as its design mimics looters like Avengers and Gotham Knights which came under criticism for microtransactions as well as general grind fest qualities without much substance or depth of gameplay.

“‘in the style of Gotham Knights and Avengers” Of course it makes sense to emulate such blockbusters…

“Imagining Ezio’s villa as the hub area, with NPC vendors who act as protagonists from other AC games serving as vendor NPCs seems like one of the dumbest fanfiction ideas possible.

“Does anyone enjoy playing this type of game?”

At present, Assassin’s Creed Titans remains only speculation and not confirmed by Ubisoft; however, given all the projects currently taking shape around AC franchise, its viability may become evident over time.
