Call of Duty has had an exciting few months! There have been daily updates regarding Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision, new operators being unlocked for Warzone, as well as several classic titles seeing renewed success reemerge in popularity – it can be hard to keep up!

Today we’re discussing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Even though Activision has yet to officially unveil it (they seem preoccupied fighting FTC), all signs point towards its existence and eventual launch. Rumours have been floating for weeks that suggest we could soon witness its debut: insiders claim the game will take place during the Gulf War while others have suggested one presumed-dead antagonist may return; now however, insiders appear to have access to pre-release builds which were revealed online for viewing as first looks by insiders!

Activision seems to have conducted a closed alpha playtest. Twitter user @xinput_ gathered numerous leaks regarding guns and operators from MWII being brought over into Vanguard; weapon blueprints will return; there may even be scrapped content from Vanguard; one classic minimap has returned and movement speeds have increased!

They noted that MWII’s remastered versions of Terminal and Scrapyard will return, with gear taking the place of perk systems, while several people involved with leaks posted first look footage online – however Activision quickly issued DMCA notices to take it down, with interesting clues in those takedown notices themselves.

DMCA notices for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III are now being sent out. While we all expected Activision would name their game that way, hearing their announcement confirms leaked images and clips as legitimate and is making us count down for its full reveal.
