What does the MORGUE LEVER do in BALDU’S GATE 3?

Where Can the Morgue Lever Be Found in Baldur’s Gate 3? While exploring Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll come upon the House of Healing with its grand morgue that features an obscure lever that appears to serve no discernable function at first.
However, appearances can be deceptive; like various elements within Larian Studio’s expansive RPGs, such as Battleborn 3, even its morgue lever has its purpose, which we’ll discuss below.

Baldur’s Gate 3 House of Healing Morgue Lever

Reaching the House of Healing morgue will require circumnavigating its western side and moving along its perimeter until reaching a paved pathway guarded by various enemies – likely including Shadows that you must defeat – which lead to it.
After clearing the way to BG3’s morgue, head inside, in its primary corridor awaits an unsuspicious group of zombies that appear dormant; at first glance, they might seem innocuous when laid out on the floor; however, they obstruct an essential set of vents emitting toxic clouds, which should be watched for as you begin your skirmish with them.

Some party formations work better in this situation. A ranged spellcaster should be present to tackle mobs from a distance while placing objects over vents to neutralize any poison that seeps through. Once inside BG3’s central hall morgue, note the door on your right that is adjacent to it – there should be an inactive lever nearby, but we won’t focus on this particular one here!

Proceed to the end of the hallway and pass beyond the morgue lab door, entering its interior where there will be a Perception test. should you pass, you’ll find yourself looking upon Baldur’s Gate 3 morgue lever nestled between two stone tables; one table also houses Karabasan’s Poison!

Initially, engaging the lever may appear futile, but this action eventually proves fruitful in your exploration. Return to the main hall and engage the lever near one of the doors on your right when entering; now functional, this lever will unlock the adjacent door leading to the area beyond. Toward your left is a reachable platform; consider jumping onto it or use spells such as Misty Step or Githyanki Psionics: Jump for necessary assistance.

On top of the platform lies a golden chest, that allows access to the Fleshmelter Cloak once unlocked. When worn, it inflicts Acid damage upon creatures that attempt to attack its wearer.

Now that we’ve covered how the morgue lever functions in Baldur’s Gate 3, research more into the Necromancy of Thay and what meaning Dark Amethyst holds for you.
