Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features an emotional tribute in memory of developer Brian Honigman.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 contains an emotional tribute to one of Insomniac Games’ developers that shows his appreciation.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 remains highly popular, selling over 5 million copies since its PlayStation 5 launch only weeks ago.
While players have enjoyed traversing New York City on swing and glide bikes, many players have taken time out of their day to look at details they might otherwise overlook.
One player found an emotional tribute for Chadwick Boseman, best-known as Black Panther from Marvel Cinematic Universe movies who tragically passed away following cancer diagnosis and treatments in 2020.
Now, another player has created a tribute for Insomniac Games developer Craig Goodman who passed away during development of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Reddit user Toy-Funtime noticed a mural depicting one of Insomniac’s developers and asked players about why this individual had been immortalised within the game. One user suggested: ‘One of their members passed away while working on Insomniac; so its development team decided to honour his memory by including an image of him.”
Another player noted he can be found when searching the credits; his name appears under “Eternal Insomniacs.” Another shared which games Goodman worked on during his time with Insomniac Games; they highlighted some titles including Ratchet & Clank which Insomniac was honoring with this portrait: it truly makes for an emotionally moving tribute.”
“People often pass us by without notice or consideration, yet Insomniac made sure he would always be remembered with honor so rest in peace,” they stated.
If you want to see this mural for yourself, it can be found within the game’s depiction of Central Park on one of its stone walls lining its perimeter.
