According to some fans, Konami may soon make an important announcement related to their Metal Gear Solid series.

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series of video games are among the most acclaimed in video game history, representing some of the finest examples in stealth/action genre gaming. Launching as humble beginnings from legendary developer Hideo Kojima with Metal Gear entries released for NES during late 80s, Metal Gear Solid hit its stride when released for original PlayStation in 1998.

Fans would not be dissappointed in subsequent games either; especially Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for PlayStation 2 in 2001 and 2004 and Metal Gear Solid 3 for the Unreal Engine 5 remake in 2006.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (2008), Peace Walker (2010) for PSP and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain (2015) continued this success story; then in 2018 came Metal Gear Survive which should speak for itself!

Recently, Konami released Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 which featured all games released between 1987 and 2004, plus bonus features. Although its title implies otherwise, many fans were disappointed to find the quality of Metal Gear Solid ports being low; nevertheless each title in the bundle still performs admirably to this day; though that should not excuse any apparent laziness with regards to ports in it.

No one could stop fans’ enthusiasm over the anticipated arrival of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2, as recently hinted by David Hayter (voice actor of Big Boss and Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4, respectively) who teased its arrival recently. Although Konami has yet to officially reveal which games would make up Vol.2, recent rumours indicate at least one may include Metal Gear Solid 4, an exclusive title only ever available on PlayStation 3.

David Hayer has done it again! Teasing fans, this time through Twitter posts containing an image with Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4. Rather than posting an official Konami trailer as his tease this time around, Hayer shared an image with Solid Snake himself which may or may not be relevant.

Although David Hayter’s selfie may seem vaguely suspicious, given Konami’s previous teaser trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 as well as leaks and speculation surrounding its possible remaster, we believe this could very well be no smoke without fire – we will update when there are further developments!

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 can now be found across PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
