Fortnite celebrates The Big Bang with Eminem and two additional Slim Shadies
Fortnite continues its streak of crossover success as soon after Eminem comes back into Fortnite with various variations we’ve seen throughout his 8 Mile stardom as Slim Shady (Eminem). That means Eminem fans everywhere can expect him soon! The free-to-play shooter promises even more surprises!
Epic Games decided to do something extra special in honor of December’s Big Bang event by inviting Eminem as its guest star, making his in-game debut a bit earlier than scheduled on November 29. The Big Bang event takes place the last weekend of this month but Eminem will make his appearance a few days earlier on November 29.
Eminem can be seen wearing three distinct skins when he arrives in Fortnite: Rap Boy, Slim Shady and Marshall Never More. Each skin represents different aspects of his career; Rap Boy is his younger self and Marshall Never More from “Without Me”.
Eminem fans looking to complete his look should participate in the Big Bang event to obtain his Marshall Magma outfit – it essentially looks similar to his Slim Shady look with glowing eyes and some red hues in his facial features – however they will need to purchase Eminem DLC to gain access.
Eminem’s appearance in Fortnite was definitely exciting; celebrity cameos are becoming less rare these days – Keanu Reeves’ John Wick and John Cena’s presence means virtually any famous face and franchise can appear even with limited playback time available to them.
Given Eminem’s often provocative content, fans might not be able to use him across all maps in Fortnite Creative’s all-ages gaming focus. Epic recently implemented age restrictions for various skins used within Fortnite, meaning Eminem may get banned from child-appropriate maps altogether. If so, we wouldn’t be too shocked.
Fortnite is now free-to-download across most modern consoles, and players will have access to Eminem DLC on November 29.
