Bobby Kotick will leave Activision at last.

Now is the time for all of us to pretend our feelings of sorrow; let’s put on an all-out display as we bid farewell to Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision.

Bobby Kotick and his old-fashioned politics are finally bidding farewell to an industry which made them multimillionaires over three decades. Earning over $600 Million without taking action over allegations of sexual misconduct at Activision is why he decided to leave.

As this man raked in huge profits while his staff reported terrible working conditions he blamed them on “an aggressive labour movement working hard to destabilise the company,” it’s hard to feel sorry that he’s leaving gaming with Microsoft’s buyout of Activision Blizzard; after all, their company made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

What’s worse is how he leaves his company in disgraceful shape while there remain thousands of passionate, dedicated, talented staffers still dedicating hundreds of hours towards providing us entertainment.

Instead of dedicating any additional words to him, let’s focus on which games Activision Blizzard are supporting post-launch.

Diablo IV had an uncertain start but has recently found its voice, creating incredible experiences; Overwatch 2 experienced its share of chaos as it gained player engagement; Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has an extremely engaging multiplayer component which keeps millions entertained; World of Warcraft, one of the biggest MMOs ever created recently announced massive seasonal content expansion plans with chapter expansions!

Let us hope that with new management at the helm, the company can turn itself around and continue producing top-quality games we will all continue enjoying for many years to come.
